All I got is dis one little linky...

This is a link to a gaming mag editor. F'ing funny stuff. The letter from Trip Hawkins is a great read. I've got a relative that used to work for him, so I found this an interesting story.

Long story short. Trip is one of the old men of video gaming. He was one of the founders of EA. Went on to a number of unsuccessful ventures including 3DO hardware company followed by 3DO software. These days he runs Digital Chocolate.

3DO was a software publisher that everyone loved to hate. They made some righteously crappy games in the end, churning out one POS after another. A sort of shit spiral down the old toliet of life.

That wasn't always the case.

A complete list of there games reveals some real gems.

The Heroes of Might and Magic games were truly good, as well as the baseball games (so I hear, I can't stand sports titles). SO although 3DO is fun to pick on, it should be remembered that they were not exclusively producing crap.
